Ruffled Skirt

This is the skirt I made. Comment! Do you like? :)

Give me a needle, some thread, and some time, and see what I can do!

While my parents went away for vacation, I was left at home, armed with nothing but a puppy, a tote-full of books, and, well, my sewing supplies. So what did I do? Sew up a cute ruffled skirt of course! It is made from a McCall's pattern, and I put my own spin on it by making it out of assorted gingham fabrics. I am going to upload pictures soon. Tell me what you think!

Summer Sew Along Episode One

I am so excited to finally get episode one up! This first episode is kind of long (Five minutes) but I had to introduce materials etc, so the next couple should only be around 3 minutes. Also, my dog saw a kitty halfway through- sorry about the extra noise!  Tell me what you think! Comments/suggestions would be appreciated. :)
Thanks to my awesome camera gal, Anna Ferron! I will add more videos every couple of days. :)

What are YOU sewing?

Hey everybody- Lilly here! I just finished my latest creation; a tiered skirt made out of cute gingham pastels! What are you sewing this summer?

Sewing Patterns: Batwing Top

Batwing_gry_thumbThis is the first pattern that I will put up. It is a batwing top, and should be made out of a knit fabric. Jersey (knit) works well, but is very heavy and hot. You can easily alter this top and make a scoop neck instead of the daring V neck,
Sorry that it is a link- I wanted to embed it, but I don't know how. Here is the file- just save it to your desktop and print it :) Have fun sewing!

Hi :)

Hi, everybody! I'm Lilly, an avid teen sewer. In this blog, I will post sewing videos, each part of my upcoming "how to course." Don't already know how to sew? No problem! I'll show you some of the basics in these comprehensive videos.
Another cool feature is the fact that I will be adding patterns, so you can print them off at home.  The great thing about sewing your own clothes iss that the possibilities are endless. Patterns are just a start- with a few adjustments and easy alterations, you can have a completely new garment! My collection is full of chic styles, ones that I am sure that you will want to sew. :)
I will also be posting statuses, telling my followers what I am currently sewing, along with pictures. Have questions about the process? Just ask!
There will be tons of guides, lots of cool features, and great info on TeenSew! So stay tuned, and maybe while your at it, whip up a couple outfits!
